Upon arriving in Australia, we were invited to try a uniquely Australian yet somewhat disgusting tradition: the shoey. We were inmediately intrigued and fascinated by this cultural phenomenon bringing people together and getting parties started. However, our fascination turned to concern when we discovered a scientific paper confirming what many had feared: doing a shoey can make you spewy (https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-07-27/the-shoey-and-why-it-could-make-you-sick/10029108).

Determined to preserve one of the greatest Aussie traditions, we set out to do what we do best. The result? The first bottle opener with UV germicidal light, designed to kill 99% of bacteria inside your shoe.
